Breaking ground on Foundry-2, a factory for accidents at scale

Zug, Switzerland — Foundry-2 will not have a crane. Every component of the building, from strut to tank, is light enough for one person to carry and simple enough to be made on a few machines that anyone can learn to use in an afternoon.

The frame is an octet truss assembled by hand on the bare ground, with no cast foundation. It can be taken apart and put up again somewhere else without damaging a single part. If the town later wants the land back, it gets it back as it was.

“We didn't make it happen. We made it possible for it to happen, and then we waited.”
— From the obxium field manual
