Lantern Swarm completes a 900 km migration nobody planned

obxium ▪ press
Limoges, France — Lantern Swarm was released at dusk over the Limousin and was last logged nine hundred kilometres north-east, seven nights later. No route was planned and none was needed.
Each lantern is paper, beeswax and a seed packet. Mycel nudged the swarm away from airports and toward open fields, and the wind did the rest. People along the way picked up the lanterns that came down, and many of them planted the seeds.
“We didn't make it happen. We made it possible for it to happen, and then we waited.”
— From the obxium field manual
What comes next
- Map of every reported landing, contributed by finders
- Seed packets swapped to regional native mixes
- An open call for the next release site
The lanterns are not for sale. If one lands near you it is yours.
